Pop Rocks and Chocolate
The candy bar I purchased today
Was an unnecessary expenditure
Extravagant and purposeless
But I purchased it regardless
Knew full well I didn’t need it
That I was acting on impulse
Finished it in three bites too
And after I discarded the packaging
I wasn’t satisfied or filled
I felt ashamed
For letting a vibrantly colored, metallic wrapper
Convince me that I was somebody else.
