The Details:
The winning poet will receive $1000.00 and publication in the winter 2009 issue of The CommonLine Project (the winter issue comes out January 4th). Not to mention the title of The 2008 CommonLine Project Winner for Poetry. The winner will also have their biography featured (if desired). There will be at least two honorable mentions who will also have their work published but will not be awarded prize money.
How to Submit:
Email submissions only. Send up to two poems by e-mail (address below). Paste the poems in the body of the email. Include your full name, e-mail address, phone number, poem titles, and date the entry fee was paid. There is no need to submit a bio at this time.
About Paying the Entry / Reading Fee:
The entry / reading fee is five dollars. The CommonLine Project uses nearly 100% of the fee’s the pay the winner. Pay the entry / reading fee via secure PayPal. You do not need a Paypal account to use PayPal. Simply follow the link below and enter your information. After you’ve finished, please send your submission to the address below.
Other Details:
Simultaneous submissions are allowed if we are notified of acceptance elsewhere. The fee covers the reading of two poems. If you would like to submit four poems please pay the fee twice and submit twice. Also note this in your submission. The 2008 competition is separate from the regular issues. Only the contest winners will receive an editorial response. All participants will be notified of the results at once via The CommonLine Projects website (with the only exceptions being the winners themselves who will be notified as soon as a decision is made). By submitting to The CommonLine Project you are allowing us to use your work for the purposes described above. The CommonLine Project will hold a one-time North American Electronic Copyrights for the month of January 2009. All rights revert back to the author one month after publication.
